Partnership cities

Jēkabpils has concluded partnership agreements and maintains good relationships with several cities.

Melle in Germany
Co-operation takes place since 1994. The agreement between the municipalities has been signed in 1998.
The main fields of co-operation are culture, education, social aid.
Melle's German – Baltic friendship society has provided financial support to Jēkabpils art and music school, regularly sends humanitarian aid to the Social Department, hospital and elderly people’s home, Red Cross, Charity Fund and other non-government organisations. An important field of co-operation is an annual international youth summer camp with participation of youth gruops from Mele (Germanya), Torzhoka (Russia) and Jēkabpils (Latvia).

Sokolova -Podlaski in Poland
Co-operation has started in 1987, a co-operation agreement has been signed.
Main fields of co-operation - education, culture and sports.

Mārdu in Estonia
Partnership agreement concluded in 2003.
Main fields of co-operation – culture, sports, social assistance and business.

Červionka Leščina
Preparation of a partnership agreement is in progress.

Lida in Byelorussia
Preparation of a partnership agreement has been started.
