Commune and Town Czerwionka-Leszczyny is situated in the south part of Poland, in the region of Silesia, 60 km from the border with the Czech Republic. The location is well connected, thanks to the location of motorway exits, which affects the dynamic economic development of the city.

The total area of (115 square km) makes Czerwionka-Leszczyny one of the largest communes in the region.

The characteristic feature of the building of Czerwionka-Leszczyn is the preservation of a complex of multi-family buildings of the former "Dębieńsko Mine” - called familoki. The historic housing made from red brick attracts attention of architecture and urban development. Because of the great architectural value of the historic housing complex and location in the city center, past few years have been devoted to the revitalization of the housing. Familoki, frequented by tourists, is one of the most valuable monuments in the area of Czerwionka-Leszczyny.

The partnership agreement with Jekabpils was signed on June 27, 2004.
