Persons with visual, movement and mental impairment may receive an assistant to perform activities outside the dwelling which, due to their disability, cannot perform independently - to the place where they are studying, working, receiving services. If a disabled child grows in a family, a number of forms of support directly related to parental employment are envisaged until the age of 18.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    A person with disabilities or his or her legal representative, Jekabpils, shall submit a written application regarding the granting of an assistant service to the Social Service. The submission shall be accompanied by a document (copy) certifying the rights of representation of the legal representative, if the services of the assistant are requested by the lawful representative of the person, as well as documents issued by the authorities (State, local government or other), the attendance of which requires an assistant.

  2. Service Processing
    Jekabpils county Social Service reviews the application and the documents attached thereto, requests additional information from the institutions (if necessary). It shall be evaluated how active a person with disabilities is, how involved in events and the amount of assistant service required. Prepare a decision and contract.

  3. Receipt of services
    The assistant and the recipient of the service are presented with their duties and rights, as well as signing an agreement with the Jekabpils Social Service.
